The Learning Curve to Running Your Own Business

Updated: Sep 16, 2022

Running your own business has its ups and down, but when you start, I find it difficult to stop.

I say that because, my first business is my YouTube channel, Ayanna's Starseed Message, then I created a website where I sell my art, Starseed Art. And now, I have my own life coaching business, Starseed Transformational Life Coach and travel agency, Starseed Travel Agency. If you haven’t noticed, there is a theme, and I love it.

In running your own business, you must start somewhere, and that starts with you. Something on the inside is triggered that makes you say, It Is Time!! Time to step out of your comfort zone and explore all that is possible. Yes, it might seem daunting at first, but if you are on that learning curve, that means you have already started the process. Look at all that you have accomplished so far. What can you use that is already in your tool belt to start your own business? Also, think about who you are as a person, and say to yourself, what do I already have that will make me a successful business owner? Then comes that gut feeling, calling you to pick up the phone. That intuition is no joke, and it isn’t about what others are doing, it's about what feels right to you in your mind, body and soul.

With all of that coming together, mixing it all up and seeing the vision, that OMG moment occurs, and you say to yourself, It Is Time!! And I am a true testament of it all. All of my businesses are built on the foundation of LOVE, and when you are doing something you love and of service to others, the learning curve process is part of the reward. Something money cannot buy, is the LOVE of business you started from scratch.

The ups and downs are well worth it. From creating a name for yourself, to what you want to sell and how you want to sell it, to how much you want to charge, to your marketing and branding, to whether you want to hire staff, to taxes, to analyzing all the expenses; these are just a few of the back-office logistics that need attention. Please understand, running a business isn’t for the faint at heart. This is where you factor in all the moving parts, and the question remains, can you see beyond the back office, and see the internal reward that your business will provide to others, first, and put money in your pocket?

The easiest part is taking that first step, and understanding that the learning curve in running a business is well worth it. It requires drive, resilience, motivation, confidence, love and strength, which is also part of the learning curve, but in the end, you will find it difficult to stop once you get started, because you are doing something that you LOVE.

Let's Go!!
